Fire District 10 will begin flow testing City fire hydrants on Monday the 27 of June 2022. The flow testing will continue for the next 3 to 4 weeks.
Flow testing the fire hydrants, is done to ensure all fire hydrants are operational and understand how much flow is available from each hydrant for an emergency.
Fire hydrant flow testing can disturb sediment in the City water main lines, causing you see stained or discolored water from the plumbing in your home. This condition should last 1 to 2 days and may happen more than once during the time the Fire District is flow testing.
